Saddled up this morning and headed off to Raglan Castle some 8 miles away. I was keen to try and ride the bike differently today. Yesterday the hills were enormous and I used the accelerator a lot. As a consequence the battery range was severely curtailed. Today I relied mostly on pedal assistance with much better results. I'm now optimistic that the bike will suit our needs.
Gordon loaded and off we shot!
Avoided the main roads on the way out. And arrived at the castle in time for lunch.
Impressive from the outside so we had our picnic in the car park and decided not to invest £17.00 in looking around inside. Headed homewards along a more scenic route . With the castle as a backdrop.
There are many castles in Wales and we've staggered around a few so didn't feel that we were missing out. Some great views on the way back.
Got home and heade out to Liddls I'm willing to bet you can't get a more scenic route to a supermarket any where.
We crossed the Whye on two occasions.
The second time was a treat with the old railway bridge and the viaduct. Side by side.
The railway bridge along the top.
And from below.
It's been another glorious day in Wales and we have another forecast for tomorrow. So we will plan another trip out as rain is forecast for the next week or so. It will be interesting to see how life is when things becomes little more restricted🫣.
Looks beautiful 😍
