Another sunny day but it's definitely a little cooler. We're having to come to terms with the fact that light jumpers need to be added to our day time wear.
We had wanted to visit the Doona nature reserve. However we found out to get to it is a journey of 2.5 hours. This is because the only bridge across the river is in Seville. So we set off for the port opposite which was a 30 minute drive.
That's it across the river. It's a deep river that ocean going boats can use to access the port of Seville. Frustratingly there is a ferry but not operating in January.
The town is a pilgrimage centre not sure why or what for but someone did something miraculous? Wether this explained the mass of people and more parades I don't know. The place was heaving all the restaurants were full by the sea. I believe it's an equivalent of our Christmas Day celebrations.
Lots of kids out on new bikes and sparkling clothes.
We had some time to kill so we made a sandcastle unfortunately Rae lost her balance and our hard work was gone!
It was nice to see and be part of a different way of celebrating the Christmas period. They do have the advantage of a amenable weather which puts a different spin on things.
Tomorrow we are hoping to be able too get up reasonably early to do a tour of some of the famous white villages.
