We set off after we had handed over the duty bag . Bill left at the same time and headed south as we headed west. He is overnighting in Carlisle and we will be in Inverness.
Rae managed to get her blood test a little earlier. While we waited we spent time wildlife spotting. No great sightings but another beautiful spot.
The same view but closer to the Skye bridge
While Rae went off to the GPs Gordon and I had some boy time.
A chilly start to the day and somewhat overcast. However as we headed west it became brighter and warmer. Another plus is that as we left the midges had awoken and were beginning to stretch there wings. The the little blighters are we understand confined to the east coast. Although I believe they are thanks to global warming starting to increase there sphere of influence. Plus luckily managing to extend there breeding season into October thus allowing a third batch to hatch and spread the message of love and understanding.
Speaking of which we stopped at our usual cafe on the way to Inverness situated on the NC 500.
Following the brief pitstop we resumed our journey only for it to be interrupted by a beagle running loose in the middle of the road. We screeched to a halt Rae flagged down the traffic and I managed to attach a lead to her. After about 30 minutes a very grateful owner turned up. Apparently he had lost his last beagle to a RTA so as you can imagine he was very grateful.
Super heroes need Pepsi apparently.
Got to Inverness and set off along the ness into town for lunch solid and liquid!
The walk from campsite too town is a delight. It may take a little longer to wend our way home!
From recent 5 * Google review
“My third recent overnight camp at Morvich when hill-walking in Kintail. Unfortunately this time after returning to the site I tripped and tore my shoulder ligament and broke my shoulder . I can't praise the staff enough for their care and concern, initial first aid and then helping me to get to A&E in Skye. I even received a follow up call the day after to ask how I was. First class service and of course what a great setting for the site!”
Just an update the guy that got injured left a Google review. Nice to know that he’s ok.
Lunch and then a local pub initial response from locals….good! …thanks to Gordon! Always the star😏
Unfortunately underdressed despite warnings from Rae obv. So had to take a diversion via a charity shop and got this. Very snug and stylish 🥸.
With labels attached!
On wards too home and a possible excursion to a local fun fair. Mind we are the only non travelers on site. Luckily we’ve all met previously 🌈😳
Perfect comment from shoulder man😂😜
