Another beautiful day spoilt a little by the fact we paid our income taxes. But we brushed ourselves down mounted up and headed the opposite direction to yesterday.,
Another beautiful beach that stretched for miles. There's something special about being able to ride your bike along the shore with nobody else around.
We had been looking for the nature reserve and after the beach ride we turned inland.
Long straight paths took us to the heart of the reserve.
Unfortunately no flamingo's yet but they should be arriving shortly. It's a beautiful place but it obviously gets waterlogged at times as they have this long boardwalk shadowing the paths!
As we headed back we spotted these cactus plants with ripe fruit. So as you do we thought we would see if they tasted ok. Yep they tasted good but and here's the stinger they have tiny invisible thorns all over them.
My hands were covered but so was the inside of my mouth and lips. Unfortunately I neglected to warn Rae and she had them in the roof of her mouth and her tongue. On the plus side they tasted great properly prepared are considered a delacy. Well we will know for next time.
Got back to base safely and sat on the beach as the sun went down.
Still adjusting to the temperature range from t shirts during the day to thermals at night.
Oh nearly forgot I had the pleasure of taking the dog out for his morning constitutional and was privileged to witness the sunrise over the beach.
Still would have rather been in the warm under a duvet 😏.
We are hoping to get to Cadiz tomorrow by bike so early start is in the offing.
