Off to the emergency dentist in Kyle this morning as previous filling fell out! Once again unwavering friendliness and hospitality. Decided to head off onto Skye and head for Uig at the top of the island visiting the Fairy Glen on the way. They love there Faries up here. It was a journey of 160 miles round trip. Once again amazed at the size!
Sorry about the size of the red star but you get the point. From Uig you can catch ferries to the outer Hebrides. There’s a regular busses from Glasgow to Uig a journey of some 7 hours poor driver!
We stopped off at the Fairy Glen, apart from the stunning scenery and out door activities tourist attractions are a little limited😏.
No faries but a few hillocks
And someone experiencing some existential angst!
Returned to safety for an audience with some horny sheep.
The lambs start to grow theirs very early looks super cute. Apparently they are Soay sheep they are descended from feral sheep found on the uninhabited island of Soay 40 miles from the western isles of Scotland. They are rated as at risk as there are only some 900 breeding ewes! 2 fun sheep facts firstly they can live( if not eaten ) to 25 plus years.
One Ram sold for £231,000 who would have thought!
A nice day but as I write a torrential down poor is hammering on the roof of the van. Bag all packed for tomorrow’s expedition as we set off to conquer at least one Munro’.
A bunch of my Scots friends have recently ridden that way and caught the ferry to the Hebrides to ride the Hebridean Way. More great pictures from them and I'm feeling a bit left out stuck here in Totton.
This looks amazing! So enjoying your blogs 😃
