Rae was feeling much better but not %100 so we decided to stay local. We set off with the aim of walking to the train station to see if the dog would be allowed on the train when we set off to Cádiz.
This was the aim but we were expecting to head through the old town on the way.
The storks make their nests on high points. Sometimes baskets are attached to mobile towers to facilitate and control the mess. Storks tend to mate for life and return to the same nest. They are huge and you quite often see dozens of them circulating above.
These particular storks are nesting on the old church. It's facade is crumbling but inside seems intact!
They seem to have enough gold about that they could pawn if needs must!
They certainly know how to decorate their churches. I guess it helps having plundered the America's!
A stunning nativity scene.
They had some donation points scattered around but given the lavish decor i feel my charitable contribution would be best spent elsewhere!
The old town is a delightful place and has many Bodegas wine and port emporiums. They do a tour around some of them that we may look into at a future date.
We got to the station and Gordon is allowed on the train with his buggy. So we shall at some point make the journey into Cadiz.
No rain is forecast for our remaining time here. So we shall continue to enjoy the sunshine.
Rae had Spanish lesson in the morning and we shall get the bikes out after and go flamingo hunting!
