A cold night with a glorious morning. We needed to fill up the van so headed to the nearest Carefour. The diesel was cheap the shop itself was mind boggling big. To the point that we struggled to find the thing we needed.
Got underway and before too long the fog descended. Up until that point we were enjoying the rolling landscape.
We had decided to stay off the motorway as it would give us a chance to see more of the countryside. Plus saving money on the tolls. The B roads are long and straight.
The villages and towns were well worth the detour. As we reached the Loire Valley we saw more and more beautiful Chateau's.
We took a bit longer than expected but when we arrived we had the site to ourselves.
Decided to take a walk along the Loire. Certainly not at its best today. It would be nice to see it in all its glory.
The circular walk took us back through the local village and this grotto as its focal point.
A quick pop into the Aldi next door and then treated Rae to a takeaway Pizza. First time using one of these. Surprisingly the pizza was very good. Also it was cheaper to have a cooked one than take the option of a cold one to cook at home.
Travelled another couple of hundred miles today and looking to get close to the Spanish border tomorrow. Thats going to be about 350 miles. Hopefully we will avoid fog and or heavy rain so we can get to see some of the country.
We are making good time so may spend a couple of days on the French Rivera 😎. Before crossing over the border.
Only the French could find a way of making sure that the alcoholic drinks contain one of your 5 a day 😎!
