We awoke to dense fog that took longer than expected to burn off. This gave us time to get ready for departure tomorrow morning. Washing done , showers taken , washing up completed, toilet emptied, oil and water checked.
The car was due back in Cádiz tomorrow but we had decided to dump it off a little earlier.
We had been wanting to vist the beach in Cádiz as it's rumoured to be the longest beach in Spain famed for its surfing.
There were many surfers and camper vans lined the beach front. Unfortunately the fog took longer than expected to dissipate. We dropped the car off and as we walked into Cádiz the fog lifted. We grabbed a couple of cakes and sat in the sun looking out to sea!
Got the train back and managed to catch one final sunset on the beach.
We have both enjoyed our time here. The weather has been pretty much perfect. The site has everything we need. We have easy access to town beach and nature reserves. I've particularly enjoyed the experience of a different culture celebrating Christmas and New Year. It has been a surprise how differently the 2 European countries celebrate the festive season!
We have a 3-4 hour drive to the mountains tomorrow in preparation for the festival on Saturday. We have no site booked so it will be a little bit of hit and miss. A friend has recommended a free camping spot on the edge of the mountain which we will attempt to locate.
