The good news is the BIL has improved after a blood transfusion and is heading closer to home fir a spell in a rehab ward. The aim is to get him home with a package of care. As such our duties in West Meon have come to an end . Sister was a little concerned in regards the impact the van was having on her sleepy close in the country.
Spent an infuriating morning trying to center the back wheel back on the bike. Fixed the puncture with relative ease but getting it set up so the disc brakes functioned was problematic. In the end had to accept defeat and I have spoken to Keith at perfect balance in Totton who has kindly agreed to look at it and offer advice.
We have returned to Totton for at least the next 3 days. We will try to sort the bike out. Try to have the LPG system installed and take the grandkids out for the day on Tuesday.
It's all been a little jarring and morale is a bit low at the moment. We will take the next few days to decide on the next step.
Went for an evening stroll with Gordon as Rae rested and recovered from a headache.
Across the water meadows along the river
And across the boardwalk.
We spent the early evening catching up with ex colleagues and fellow van lifers Gary and Kirsty who are currently our neighbours. We chewed the fat, compared condensation issues and other van life issues such as battery types, heating the best fridges, sleeping positions and the intricacies at night time toilet runs. It was great catching up with them and nice to compare notes with others sharing the same lifestyle.
Tomorrow we remain in Calmore and will venture out as and when the weather permits.
