Otters and Rainbows

Oh my did it rain last night. Having said that there was not another sound to disturb. As a consequence we both had a great nights sleep. We have both had colds but fingers crossed 🤞 we are both on the mend. We opened the van door to this view!

As we were deciding what to do I glanced over my shoulder and saw something in the little marina behind us. On further examination it was the beautiful animal below. I went out on a jetty and came face to face with him. Not sure who was more surprised...

We set off for a walk around the local area. Initially through a small forest.

Then along the lakeside. Apparently the second largest lake in France. There are 3 lakes this one is the largest and they are all connected by canals constructed by some rich bankers back a century or two ago.

It is also the largest oil field on mainland Europe.

We returned via the cycle route into the local village. There is literally nothing open or going on we appear to be the only people here😱.

Got back to the van and we were encircled by a rainbow. 🌈 Fortune favours the brave 🫠.

Returned to the otter venue. Unfortunately no luck! The best time to see them is either early morning or late afternoon. We will stalk them again in the morning.

Tomorrow we are off to Biaritz for a look around. It's a couple of hours away and will be our last stop in France until our return trip. The weather forecast is looking progressively better the further we head south.

Probably the nicest area yet that we’ve stayed.

The conversation with the blog server continues. I am trying to find a way forward.! We had packed away our summer clothes thinking that as we headed home we would not be needing them. After unpacking

The long drive.

Still awaiting a call from the blog admin to try and sort out storage issues. We got up reasonably early and left the sight at about 9 for the 6 hour or so drive to València. It was the best drive we
