It’s proper wind down time we spent the morning taking down signs and dismantling what we could in preparation for closing the site. We are rapidly heading for our exit from the highlands. Again we have mixed feelings about going but on balance it’s time. We are off to Brecon in March but in all honesty we are ambivalent about continuing this work it’s the epitome of white privilege and total disregard of the impending climate emergency. This is the campsite as it empties.
As it’s all winding down we had the afternoon off and went for a walk. We sauntered off on to a couple of headlands on the way to the pub.
It’s a beautiful place and we shall be sad to leave!
But it’s time…..
Work tomorrow the last person must leave site at 12 😎🏴.
Packing up the site and us. We have a night out tomorrow.
The local shop gave us a card and presents we will have a night out tomorrow and hopefully a few friends we have made up here will join us for farewell drinks!
Local pub not great but beggars …… they sell Guinness
Shame I didn't get up to see you up there but it's difficult getting very long away from my shop in the busy season. I've certainly enjoyed reading the blog posts and pictures and if I don't see you before it should be a lot easier for me to get to Brecon. Hope the bikes are still running as they should.
Wow such a magnificent part of our world and almost on our doorstep! Thank you for all the amazing photos and commentary ❤
