Twat found!

We got up before dawn in order to get the ferry to Orkney. As the ferry set sail the sun was rising over the horizon.

The ferry journey took approximately 2 hours and was not too much of an ordeal for us however Gordon was incarcerated in a wire kennel in solitary confinement. Needless to say he was less than impressed. At least it was dry. On the way to docking in Orkney we passed the famous old man of Hoy.

And other beautiful cliffs and formations.

We then docked in stromness a strangely Scandinavian looking town.

We disembarked and wondered through the gentle and surprising tranquil high street.

And even found Rae’s spiritual home.

We the headed off to Skara Brae older than Stonehenge Pyramids and the Great Wall of China. Buried under sand dunes until a storm blew them away. A village preserved for eternity.

Really interesting with a great guide from Dorset🤷‍♀️.

We then headed off in search for a village which we are a little bit ashamed of was one of the motivations for the trip to these islands! Initially no luck as apparently people keep pinching the signs.

With some perseverance we located this one. Pulled up in the middle of the road and snapped these !

We are finally home!

The rain came in and we headed towards Kirkwall capital city and our home for the next 3 days.

Via yet another beautiful beach. Shame about the weather 😏.
