Fish on fire

We grabbed a burger and got to the beach in good time. Not too sure what to expect.

The procession had made its way from the town centre. With drag queens , children dressed as Pinocchio and everything in between.

Even Rae got into the act.

the giant sardine eventually was carried high above the now very crowded beach.

I think some were burried all in preparation for the start of lent.

It was set on fire and must of been made of highly inflammable materials as it took seconds to be consumed. They had a fire engine with hose at the ready and the whole thing was over in 5 minutes.

The large crowd had gathered and waited for an hour or so before the incineration and dispersed in 5 minutes. A little bit of an anticlimax but worth witnessing.

We spent the day doing chores , shopping washing and some paperwork. Ideal drying conditions afte a rainy start to the day.

Tomorrow we are expecting sunshine all day. I have an appointment with a sports massage therapist as shoulder continues to give me gyp. On a more positive note Rae has an appointment with the specialist on our return to England.
